This is my first oekaki. It was done at [link] with my mouse (bad idea). You can watch the messed up animation there. He's my favorite Org. Member, along with another... and also another, haha.
For my first one, and with a mouse too... I couldn't just draw some simple portrait, NO I had to go and draw a complicated character like Saix and on top of that, with some weird perspecitive. Eh... I don't like it much. It was a struggle, and I worked on it too long. First, I had to do things over and over because it wouldn't send, but it told me that it did, so when I went back to continue, all the work I had done was lost. This happened several... many times. Then, when I did the lineart, it looked so soft, but what it did, seeing as to how oekaki is so evil, when I combined the glow lineart with the base lineart, it make the glow 100% grey instead of making it a faded black, so it looked good by itself, but when coloring under it, the glow was still grey instead of a lower opacity black... So the black was outlined with a lighter grey... Yep, crap.
Oekaki doesn't like my style. I can't be super-smooth with it. And it took a very long time. It's messy, and that bothers me a lot. If you tilt your head to the left, your eyes should trick you into seeing my original idea, or the way it should look. I had a great idea for lighting, but it just doesn't look well-done. I made Saix's skin tone too deep/dark/red too. It's actually more yellow. Oh well. I'll move this to scraps soon. Just wanted people to know I'm still doing things. I feel like I have to apologize to him, or someone because I messed it up so bad. Heh. But I got an archive, so it can't be that bad, heheh. Thanks, Gemi.
Saix is copyright to Tetsuya Nomura, whose work is copyright to SQUARE ENIX.
Ha, well, I just feel like it brings down the other pieces in my gallery... I don't know, we'll see.

Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
